About the Designs

The jewelry in the Denize Ramos Designs collection is best described as sculpture for the body. The pieces are created using a beading technique known as “free-form Peyote stitch beading.” The bead stitch makes a “fabric” of beads when they are hand-woven together. Using variations of the bead stitch, Denize artfully entwines fresh water pearls, abalone shells, mabe pearls, Swarovski crystals - agate, and other stones into unique jewelry. The pieces have an organic feel, as their varied shapes mirror the free-form quality of the beading. Her sculptural integration of the colorful stones and beads create an aura of movement and rhythm.
